What an incredible day for Camp Marymount!
Thanks to the generosity of our golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers, the 31st Annual Marymount Open Scholarship Scramble (MOSS) raised an incredible $41,000 — exceeding our $40,000 goal!
With 102 golfers coming together at Montgomery Bell State Park Golf Course on October 2, 2026, this year's tournament was a wonderful celebration of friendship, generosity, and the Marymount Spirit.
Proceeds benefit the Peggy Whiteside Memorial Scholarship Fund, helping children experience the friendships, adventures, faith, and lifelong memories that make Camp Marymount so special.
To everyone who played, sponsored, donated, volunteered, or helped make this event a success — THANK YOU!
Because of you, more children will have the opportunity to experience the magic of Camp Marymount.
31 Years of Golf. Thousands of Campers. One Marymount Tradition.
For more than 30 years, the Marymount Open Scholarship Scramble — MOSS — has brought together golfers, Camp Marymount alumni, families, businesses, parishioners, and friends for one important purpose:
Helping more children experience the joy of nature, outdoor adventure, friendship, and faith at Camp Marymount.

Long before Tommy Hagey became Camp Marymount's director, he was already helping shape its future.
While working as a probation officer and volunteering at Camp Marymount, Tommy started the Marymount Open Scholarship Scramble.
What began as a fundraising golf tournament more than three decades ago became one of Camp Marymount's most enduring traditions.
Tommy's connection to Marymount goes back even further.
He is a second-generation Marymounter. His mother attended Camp Marymount's very first summer in 1939, when the camp was known as Camp Happy Hollow. Both of his parents attended Camp, Tommy attended, and the Marymount tradition continued through his own family.
Over the decades, MOSS has grown alongside that legacy.
Today, it is Camp Marymount's longest-running annual fundraiser dedicated specifically to camper scholarships, raising $37,000 in 2025 alone and helping provide opportunities for thousands of children to experience Camp.

MOSS is one of Camp Marymount's longest-running fundraising traditions.
Teams of four come together for a morning of golf, friendship, competition, and the unmistakable Marymount Spirit — but the real impact happens long after the last putt.
The money raised helps children attend summer camp who might otherwise never have that opportunity.
At Marymount, those children get something increasingly difficult to find: time away from screens, space to explore the outdoors, opportunities to build confidence and independence, friendships that can last a lifetime, and a community centered on faith.
Your round of golf can help give a child a summer they'll never forget.

All proceeds from MOSS benefit the Peggy Whiteside Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Peggy Whiteside served Camp Marymount as a head counselor for 25 years and influenced generations of Marymounters.
The scholarship fund created in her memory continues that legacy by helping families afford a Camp Marymount experience for their children.
Camp Marymount believes financial circumstances should not be the reason a child misses the opportunity to experience Camp.
In 2026, MOSS golfers and sponsors raised $41,000 for the Peggy Whiteside Memorial Scholarship Fund — helping even more families afford the Camp Marymount experience.
MOSS helps make that possible.
MOSS is played as a traditional golf scramble, making it a fun event for golfers of different skill levels.

For generations, children have come to Marymount to experience something different.
They step away from phones and screens.
They spend their days outside.
They learn to solve problems.
They try new things.
They build friendships.
They discover confidence.
And they experience faith as part of everyday life.
A Camp Marymount scholarship isn't simply financial assistance.
It's an invitation into the Marymount experience.

MOSS represents something that is difficult to measure.
Generations of campers, counselors, parents, alumni, volunteers, and friends continue to help the next generation experience the place that meant so much to them.
Tommy Hagey once described that connection as the "intangible Marymount spirit."
MOSS is one of the places you can see that spirit in action.
