Camp Marymount TOMMY HAGEY

Seeing a child grow in faith, maturity and independence. This is one the greatest job perks for Tommy Hagey, who for the past 27 years has served as executive director of Camp Marymount. But Tommy’s connection to camp goes back even further. He first stepped on camp property in the early 80s and spent seven summers working in multiple positions at Marymount—maintenance, support staff, counselor, head of Senior Camp and Head Counselor.

Tommy also met fellow counselor and future wife Margaret Forsdick Hagey at camp. Together, they are the proud parents of 8 children. All told, Margaret and Tommy have a combined 83 years at Camp Marymount. Tommy, who oversees all areas of camp, feels that experiencing the outdoors is more important today than ever. “Getting young people to unplug from electronics and connect allows them to get in tune with self, faith and others,” says Tommy. “Children need this today more than any time in history.”

A member of the American Camping Association and the Center for Nonprofit Management, Tommy is also active in the community, serving as past president of the Fairview Chamber of Commerce. When not at camp, Tommy still loves to be outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his family at the beach or mountains.
